The NIMDM 2010 replaces the NIMDM 2005 as the official measure of spatial deprivation in Northern Ireland. NIMDM 2010 results are available at Super Output Area and Output Area. Summary measures are available at Electoral Ward, Local Government District and Assembly Area (1992 boundary) geographies. Small Area Population Estimates for Census Output Area, Super Output Area (SOA) and Electoral Ward geographical Levels were released on 26th May. Sex and Broad Age Bands breakdowns are available for SOA and Ward geographical Levels. Figures for Census Output Areas are rounded to the nearest 5 persons; figures for Super Output Areas and Electoral Wards are rounded to the nearest person. However, precision to this level should not be assumed. These estimates include armed forces personnel and prisoners. Population estimates are also available for Neighbourhood Renewal Areas. The 2008 Parliamentary Constituency Boundaries came into effect on 6th April 2010. The NINIS datasets have not been updated to the new Parliamentary Constituencies, but refer to the previous Parliamentary Constituency boundaries. Please note the Assembly Areas were not affected by the boundary review.
The initial results for the Northern Ireland Multiple Deprivation Measures 2010 were released today. The results are available at SOA level and provide information on seven types or 'domains' of deprivation and the overall multiple deprivation measure.
A full report with finalised results will be published in May 2010. Until then 2005 NIMDM remains the official measure of multiple deprivation in Northern Ireland. To view the data, click here.
Small Area Population Estimates (SAPE) were released today by Demography and Methodology Branch, NISRA. The SAPE are produced for 890 Super Output Areas and are available fro the years 2001 - 2008. The following age and gender breakdowns are also available:
Males - Children (0-15 years), young working age adults (16-39 years), older working age adults (40-64 years), pensionable age (65+ years)
Females - Children (0-15 years), young working age adults (16-39 years), older working age adults (40-59 years), pensionable age (60+ years)
