A major international conference is taking place in Belfast on 17-19 August 2011.
The International Association for Official Statistics (IAOS) biennial conference will be held in Queen's University,
Belfast and will include thirteen distinguished invited speakers.
The theme of the conference is "The Demography of Ageing and Official Statistics".

IAOS
The IAOS is a branch of International Statistics Institute (ISI), which was founded in 1885 and is one of the oldest international scientific associations functioning today.
The IAOS itself is an international organisation that brings together producers and users of official statistics.
Its objectives are to promote the understanding and advancement of official statistics and to foster the development of effective and efficient official statistical services on a global basis.

Conference Information
The Belfast conference is a satellite of the 2011 ISI conference which will be held in Dublin on 21-26 August 2011.
The IAOS conference in Belfast is being organised locally by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA),
in association with The Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister (OFMDFM), the Centre for Ageing Research and Development in Ireland (CARDI) and Queen's University, Belfast.

Cost and Registration
Costs for the conference are £195 for a full delegate and £95 for an accompanying person.
