On Census Day 29th April 2001 the resident population of Rostulla ward was 3825. Of this population:- 14.9% were under 16 years old and 20.9% were aged 60 and over;
- 47.6% of the population were male and 52.4% were female;
- 33.0% were from a Catholic community background and 59.2% were from a 'Protestant and Other Christian (including Christian related)' community background;

The population for Rostulla ward in 2010 was estimated at 3766, of which 15.1% were children, 37.8% were young working age adults, 27.1% were older working age adults and 20.0% were older people.
