On Census Day 29th April 2001 the resident population of Ardeevin ward was 2352. Of this population:- 17.5% were under 16 years old and 25.0% were aged 60 and over;

- 14.6% were from a Catholic community background and 81.5% were from a 'Protestant and Other Christian (including Christian related)' community background;
