In Carnlough ward there were 55 students enrolled at a Higher Education college in 2009/10. Higher Education can be defined as education at a higher level than secondary school, usually provided in universities. Of all students enrolled, 83.6% were full time and 16.4% were part time students, while 60% were female and 40% were male. In total, 50.9% were aged 20 and under, 30.9% were aged 21-24 and 18.2% were aged 25 and over.

In Carnlough ward there were 170 students enrolled at a Further Education college in 2009/10. Employment, Economic Activity and Social Welfare


On Census Day 29th April 2001, in Carnlough ward looking at the population aged 16-74:

The Northern Ireland Multiple Deprivation Measure 2010 (NIMDM 2010) report was published in May 2010. The report identifies small area concentrations of multiple deprivation across Northern Ireland. The results for Carnlough ward are shown below.

Average life expectancy measures the expected years of life at birth based on the mortality rates of the period in question. Life expectancy for males in Carnlough ward for 2007-2009 is 'Greater than NI average but less than 85' and for females is 'Greater than 75 but less than NI average'.
