Deprivation Results 2010
The
Northern Ireland Multiple Deprivation Measure (NIMDM) 2010 report was
published on 26th May 2010. The NIMDM 2010 replaces the NIMDM 2005 as the
official measure of spatial deprivation in Northern Ireland.
The NIMDM 2010 is a combination of 7 types or 'domains' of deprivation
weighted as follows:
Income Deprivation 25%, Employment Deprivation 25%, Health Deprivation and
Disability 15%, Education, Skills and Training 15%, Proximity to Services 10%,
Living environment 5%, Crime and Disorder 5%
The primary output geography for the NIMDM 2010 is the Super Output Area.
Following user consultation an Output Area Multiple Deprivation Measure was also
produced. In terms of indicator weight, the Output Area Multiple Deprivation
Measure comprises 86% of Output Area data.
Summary measures were also produced at Electoral Ward, Local Government
District and Assembly Area geographies.

Deprivation Consultation
The Northern Ireland Multiple
Deprivation Measure 2009: Consultation Document was published on 27th July
2009. The associated consultation period finished on 16th November 2009.
During the consultation period three public consultation meetings were held
in Omagh, Lisburn and Belfast.

Deprivation Blueprint
The Northern Ireland
Multiple Deprivation Measure 2010: Blueprint
Document was published on 5th February. The blueprint summarises the main
issues arising during the consultation period and details the indicators
that will be included in the NIMDM 2010.
